Post-modifier

 Post modifier is a word or phrase that is used after a word or phrase to supply information about the word or phrase.

For Example: The man was strong.

In this sentence, ‘strong’ is a post modifier because it comes after ‘man’ and supplies information about the word ‘man’. The following are used as post modifiers.

  1. Adjective phrase
  2. Present participle
  3. Past participle
  4. Adverb
  5. Apposition
  6. Infinitive
  7. Prepositional phrase
  8. Nominal clause
  9. Relative clause
