In English, there are a number of determiners which are used to indicate nouns in a sentence. Article is one of the determiners . মূলতঃ a, an এবং the হচ্ছে articles । এই তিনটি article আবার দুইভাগে বিভক্ত (1) General article – a and an এবং (2) Specific article – the এদের ব্যবহার শিখতে হলে, ভালভাবে determiners এর ব্যবহার শেখা দরকার। তবে সহজ কথা হলো এই যে, ইংরেজিতে কিছু plural nouns এবং কিছু proper nouns ছাড়া প্রায় সব noun এর আগেই determiner ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমনঃ নিচের উদাহরণ গুলি লক্ষ্য করা যাকঃ 1.
