  Modal auxiliary ইংরেজিতে verb এর সাধারণ অর্থকে modify করে বিশেষ অর্থ প্রকাশ করার জন্যে কয়েকটি auxiliary verb এর সহযোগীতা নেয়া হয়। এই auxiliary verb গুলীকে বলে modal verbs । এদের বৈশিষ্ট্য হলোঃ 1. Third person এ s বা es লিখতে হয়নাঃ He can  speak Chinese. 2. এমনকি Simple Present and Simple Past এও এদের পরে “not” লিখে Negative করতে হয়। He should not be late.   Primary auxiliary verbs ইংরেজিতে Primary auxiliary verb তিনটি – i. be ii. have and iii. do এদের ব্যবহার নিম্নরুপঃ i. Be  Continuous tenses:  He  is  writing.  – present continuous  You   were reading.  -past continuous  They will  be  playing.    -future continuous ii. Have   perfect and perfect continuous tenses:    I have taken breakfast.  -present perfect  Ria has been reading. -present perfect cont. iii. Do   Interrogative and negative sentences of present and past indefinite tenses: Do you know the man? –  Int.present I don’t like gossiping.  Negative Did they come here? -Int.Past She did not answer.  Auxiliary verb- a verb that gives grammatical information, for example about tense, which is not given by the main verb of a sentence. অর্থাৎ, যে verb ব্যাকরণগত এমন সব তথ্য প্রকাশ করে যা সাধারণতঃ main verb এর মাধ্যমে প্রকাশ পায়না, সে verb ই হচ্ছে Auxiliary verb । যেমনঃ They play foot ball. They are playing football. এখানে প্রথম sentence এ ‘play’ verb টি দ্বারা present indefinite tense প্রকাশ করা সম্ভব হয়েছে। কিন্তু দ্বিতীয় sentence এ present continuous tense প্রকাশ করা শুধুমাত্র main verb এর পক্ষে আদৌ সম্ভব না। তাই Auxiliary verb ‘are’ এর সহযোগীতায় তা করা হয়েছে। আবার He reads English. He can read English.  এই sentence দুটির প্রথম sentence এ ‘reads’ verb টি দ্বারা সাধারণ অর্থ ‘পড়ে’ প্রকাশ করা সম্ভব হয়েছে। কিন্তু দ্বিতীয় sentence এ সক্ষমতা অর্থে ‘পড়তে পারে’ প্রকাশ করা শুধুমাত্র main verb এর পক্ষে আদৌ সম্ভব না।...

  Adjective is a word that describes a noun or pronoun. 'Big', 'boring', 'purple', 'quick' and 'obvious' are all adjectives. অর্থাৎ, Adjective হলো এমন word যা কোন noun বা pronoun কে বর্ণনা করে। এখন জানতে হবে Adjective noun বা pronoun কে কি ভাবে বর্ণনা করে। Adjective: noun বা pronoun এর কোন বৈশিষ্ট্য প্রকাশ করে। উক্ত বৈশিষ্ট্য হতে পারে noun বা pronoun টির কোন দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা, সংখ্যা, পরিমাণ বা বিশেষত্ব প্রকাশক যেকোন word, phrase অথবা clause। যেমনঃ i. Arif is a good student. -word ii. The boy carrying a bag is coming to us. -phrase iii.
