Prepositions of time

 

Prepositions of time show when something takes place.   কোন কাজ কোন সময়ে ঘটে তা প্রকাশের জন্য সময় প্রকাশক Prepositions ব্যবহার করতে হয়।

at: ঘড়ির সময়/point of time – He will arrive at 5 PM.

on: দিন/তারিখের আগে- She came back on December 20.

in: সপ্তাহ,মাস/বছরের আগে – Bangladesh became independent in 1971.

during: কোন কাজ, ঘটনা বা সময়ের শুরু থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত – I work during the day.

over:

for: স্থায়ীত্ব- I work for five hours a day.

since: স্থায়ীত্ব/পর্যন্ত- I have been here since morning.

till: পর্যন্ত- I will wait for you till night.

until: যে পর্যন্ত না- You should try until your success. 

by: মধ্যে- I will come back by 5 PM.

between: দুইটি সময়ের মধ্যে- The accident took place between 4 and 5 PM.

before: আগে – I went there before January.

after:    পরে- ‍After night comes the morning.
