Compound sentence

 Introduction: Compound Sentence = 1Main clause + 1 or more co-ordinate clause/s Example: He is poor but (he is) honest.

Compound Sentence এ একটি মাত্র main clause থাকে এবং এক বা একাধিক co-ordinate clause থাকে।

Formation: Base: i. 1Main clause + 1 or more coordinate clause/s Example: I went out and came back soon.

Simple -Compound: Simple Sentence কে Compound Sentence গঠন করতে হলে Simple Sentence এর present participle, infinitive, prepositional phrase, adverbial ইত্যাদিকে Main clause এ রুপান্তর করতে হয় এবং মাঝে Co-ordinating conjunction যোগ করতে হয় । যেমনঃ

Simple: Working hard, he became rich.)present participle Compound : He worked hard and became rich.

Complex-Compound: Complex-Compound Sentence গঠন করতে হলে Subordinating conjunction বাদ দিয়ে main clause এর আগে Coordinating conjunction লিখতে হয় এবং Clause টিকে Parallel করে শেষে লিখতে হয় । যেমনঃ

Complex : As he was busy, he could not wait. Compound: He was busy and could not wait.
