Object

 According to Cambridge Advanced dictionary object is 'a person or thing that is affected by the action of a verb or involved in the result of an action, or a noun, pronoun or noun phrase that represents that person or thing'.

অর্থাৎ, object বলতে এমন কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বোঝায় যা এর কাজ দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়। যেমনঃ We eat rice. এই বাক্যে rice শব্দটি হচ্ছে object ।

Subject এর অনুরুপ ৬ ধরণের Word unit Object হতে পারে । যথাঃ 1. Noun - I saw Mamun NB: noun এর সাথে determiner ও adj modifier থাকতে পারে। যেমনঃ She helped an old man.

2. Pronoun - I saw him.

3. Gerund — We should practice walking. 4. Infinitive - I like to swim.

5. The + adj - We should not neglect the poor.

6. Noun clause - I know what happened.
