Distributive pronoun

 Definition:

1. The words each, either and neither are called distributive pronouns. Distributive pronouns are always singular and are followed by singular verbs.

অর্থাৎ, each, either and neither কে Distributive pronoun বলে ।

এই pronounগুলী সর্বদা singular এবং এদের পরে সবসময় singular verbs ব্যবহৃত হয়।

2. The pronouns which are used to indicate all the members of the representative group are called distributive forms.

অর্থাৎ একটি বিশেষ শ্রেণীর সকল সদস্যকে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন করে বোঝাতে যে pronoun ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাই Distributive pronoun ।

নিচের pronounগুলী হচ্ছে Distributive pronoun
Each, everyone, either and neither
Examples :

Each one of you will be given a chance.

Everyone, present here, should take their dinner.

Either of you can take the matter to the chairman.

Neither of you is qualified to attend the final.

Distributive pronoun determiner বা adjective হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। ।

সেক্ষেত্রে এদের পরে noun যুক্ত হয়ে ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমনঃ

Each girl performed well today. [Each qualifying the noun ‘girl’; hence, an adjective]

You can take either side. [‘side’ being qualified by either– an adjective here]

Neither end is safe. [Neither qualifying the noun ‘end’]
