Determiner

Determiner  হচ্ছে নির্দেশক। যে সকল শব্দ noun এর আগে বসে noun এর নির্দেশক রুপে কাজ করে তাদেরকে Determiner বলে ।  Determiner দ্বারা তার পরে আসা noun এর ধরণ, প্রকৃতি, সংখ্যা, পরিমান ইত্যাদি বোঝায়। ইংরেজিতে অনেক ধরণের  Determiner  আছে। যেমনঃ

1.Article  :     a,an, the

2Possesive pronuons :  my,your, our, his, her, their, it’s, noun + ’s

3 Demonstrative pronouns:     this, that, those, these

4Indefinite pronouns: any, many, some, no, few, all, each, every, eiteher, neither

5Distributive pronouns: each, every, either, neither

অর্থঃ কিছু বালক  

সব determinerই adjective এর মতো কাজ করে । তাই আমরা এক কথায় বলতে পারি –All determiners are adjectives.
