Demonstrative pronoun

 Definition:

Demonstrative pronoun describes words such as ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’ and ‘those’ that show which person or thing is being referred to.

অর্থাৎ কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বোঝানো হচ্ছে তা নির্দিষ্ট করে বলতে Demonstrative pronoun ব্যবহৃত হয়।

‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’ and ‘those’ হচ্ছে Demonstrative pronoun ।

যেমনঃ  ‘This is my brother’, sentence টিতে ‘this’ হচ্ছে Demonstrative pronoun।

তবে Demonstrative pronoun determiner বা adjective হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।

সেক্ষেত্রে এদের পরে noun যুক্ত হয়ে ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমনঃ

We live in this house.
